Metro Jakarta, just like a magnet, attracting some people in rural who desire a better living. Hijra, they say. Yet the city in which crowded by trains moving from one station to another is merely a port of call. Responsibilities and obligations, hauling people to ‘the west’: tuition fees, cartons of milk, rice, sugar, and home loans. And so, a friend of mine decided to move away to the capital city of Jakarta. Coping up with fancy jobs which never crossed her mind before. She has to spend one-third of her day, living on a train -going back and forth to home. Hopping into the same train the next day, departing to Jakarta. She deliberately hops herself in the train, commuting from one city to another. She has committed to herself to redeem her karma within the journeys she is in.
